Spring Air Conditioning Maintenance

Sep 7, 2018

Spring is here! Before the cool and welcoming breeze of spring turns into the blistering heat of summer, now is the perfect time to get the maintenance done on your air conditioning unit!

To keep your home at a comfortable level, there are certain measures you need to keep up on. Here is what you can do to make sure your air conditioning unit will be hitting its perfect stride come summer:

Remove Debris

Debris can collect around the outdoor unit of your air conditioner during the fall and winter months. This debris prevents the unit from working properly. Before you turn your AC on for the first time this year, remember to remove any lids or covers, and clear out leaves, vegetation, trash, etc. to give the unit some breathing room.

Check the Air Filter

Again, during the fall and winter months, there are plenty of opportunities for dust, dirt, and debris to clog up your filter. This can ensure your air conditioner to be running smoothly when needed come the summer months.

Be sure to check your filter at least once a month during the summer. This enables your system to run more smoothly and to make sure its force isn’t being diminished by the up of dirt.

Check your Thermostat

It is a good idea to switch on the thermostat to make sure it is working correctly. If you don’t already have a programmable thermostat, you may want to look at purchasing one. Programmable thermostats can save a significant amount when it comes to energy costs.
